2019 Progress Tour Schedule

The Progress Tour relaunches with more events planned, and more prize money on offer throughout the year.

The Tour will make its way across the UK, with additional events taking place in the USA, mainland Spain and Tenerife (with further events planned in South Africa and Australia before the end of the year).

In 2018, the tour saw over 450 players compete across the 8 Main Tour events, and over £20,000 paid out in prize money. The Tour will continue to be underpinned by the UTR and provides level-based and progressive competition for all players.

2019 Progress Tour Schedule

Base-level Prize Money

The minimum offering at a Progress Tour event will be:

  • £300 Winner
  • £150 Finalist
  • £100 FBW.

A Progress Tour Premier event is denoted with a double ££ icon. Each of these events will carry a greater amount of prize money (exact prize money to be confirmed at each event, with winners cheque will be in the region of £800-1000 for a 2 day Main Draw).

2019 Premier British Tour & $25k

The schedule has been carefully worked around the 5 x Premier British Tour events and 8 x $25k ITF World Tour events, which will operate in ‘four swings’.

To try and maximise player opportunities, a number of Progress Tour Premier events will complement the 3 week swings; in the weeks leading up to the premier Briitish Tours, and immediately following the $25k’s, giving players more opportunity to compete and earn.

Wild Card Feeder Events

Four of the Premier British Tour events will yield Wild Cards into $25k events, and I have requested a similar feeder system for a number of Progress Tour Premier events leading into the Futures ‘swings’.

With an absence of $15k events planned in the UK in 2019, we will have a whole tier of players who will be battling just to get into ranking events here in the UK – providing players with the opportunity to earn their way into ranking events with ‘Wild Card Feeder events’ is a great way to encourage more competition on home soil.

Progress Tour 1 Day Shootouts

The one day events have proved popular as players seek good quality, level-based matches. These events will be going on across the Country throughout the year, so please keep an eye out for schedules as they are updated. Any venues/clubs keen to host a 1 Day Shootout event, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

British Competitive Opportunities

With so many changes afoot in the world of tennis, we need to sustain and support not only the next generation of players coming through, but also our current crop and past players, all of whom deserve the opportunity to compete at their respective levels within the UK.

It is my belief that the more reasons we can give players to stay, compete and earn in the UK, the healthier our competitive structure will be across the board.

Please help spread the word, and do not hesitate to get in contact with any feedback, queries or if you wish to get involved in helping to grow this Tour!
